SERVE India

Dear Prayer Partners of SERVE India,
I am so glad that I was able to get back here at noon on Christmas Eve to be able to attend Christmas Eve service and celebrate with my family. Thank you for praying. The land sale has still not been completed, but hopefully when I return at the end of this month I will be able to finish the final step. Thank you for praying and please keep praying for it to finally be completed.

I, on behalf of all of our staff and Pastors in India, thank you for your support and prayer throughout 2012. We know that by God’s grace and through your partnership God has worked in mighty ways. We thank Him and we thank you!

Many people in villages throughout Andhra Pradesh have come to know the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ for the first time.

Many poor and oppressed people have been strengthened in their lives through the ministries of the local church and Pastors that God placed in their villages.

Seven new church buildings are under construction.

Several free adult education literacy classes are underway in many different villages.

Hundreds of Bibles and thousands of pieces of Christian literature have been distributed throughout our Pastors’ areas.

Poor orphan children and widows have been cared for and helped in their need.

New playground equipment was lovingly given to 4 children’s homes for their joy and healthy development.

Those at Jeeva Jalem (leprosy colony) were provided for with food, medicine, clothing and some self-help training.

Village church members who were given free rickshaws have hope and happiness in their families and help provide support to their local church.

The new teacher training school is under construction and we hope will be opened this coming summer.

Pastor’s Training classes with 9 students met regularly under the leadership of Pastor Vijay Kumar and Pastor Raji Babu.

Regular monthly Pastors’ meetings with our nearly 200 SERVE India Pastors took place in 3 different areas and continue to train and encourage these hard working men and their families in the sacrificial and joyful work of our mighty and loving God.

Comfort and help was provided to the persecuted Christians in Orissa, meeting the needs that came up and providing support to them as they met with their local leaders for the help and protection they still need.

God is changing India one by one and yet there are many who are still waiting to hear the Good News we have to tell. Psalm 96:3 says, ‘Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all people.’ Please continue to pray for each of the ministries of SERVE India as the believers take the Gospel into the cities and villages.
